About Us

A Helping Hand Up for Higher Education

Our dream is to help every person in our community striving to achieve a college education and improve their life.

We’re passionate about helping students that value hard work and are taking steps necessary to transform their future by obtaining a college degree or career-technical certificate. Education is the great equalizer in our society and provides the less fortunate a path to achieve career goals and success in life. In Solano County this is so important because ten percent of the population lives in poverty; nearly 50,000 people. Also, the population with the bachelor’s degree in Solano is just half that of most Bay Area counties, and well below surrounding areas, including Sacramento.

Solano Community College is making an impact daily by educating about 12,000 local students from diverse backgrounds. Students have an opportunity to select an academic major in nearly 100 career fields. These students embrace the fact that higher education and career-technical training will improve their future.

Ways to Give

SCC Educational Foundation Activities

Since 2013, SCCEF provided $3M to support the College, including $940,000 in donations to departments and programs, $549,000 for student scholarship awards/stipends, $105,000 for the Athletic Department and $60,000 for the establishment of the Alumni Association. In addition, the Foundation has provided $541,000 to produce outreach and fundraising events to help market the College, and generated $238,000 to support Foundation activities (providing a cost savings to the College). SCCEF retains approximately $592,000 in immediately available funds to support nearly 100 College programs.
