Facility Naming
New and existing facilities may be named in recognition of donors to the College, Educational Foundation, or Scholarship Foundation.
The Solano Community College (SCC) District makes facilities naming available to recognize significant monetary contributions. Naming recognition may also be considered for an individual, a business, or an organization who has made a significant contribution of time, effort, or service to SCC District.
The Superintendent-President’s Office and the SCC Educational Foundation publish recommended contributions for specific areas. A financial gift does not automatically result in the naming of a building or area. The final decision is made by the SCC District Board of Trustees.
Below are typical examples of the financial contribution required:
- Individual seat plaques typically start at $250-$500.
- Naming of offices and study rooms begins at $2,500.
- Naming of classrooms and meeting rooms is typically from $10,000 to $100,000.
- Major spaces and labs or campus areas such as patios, lobbies, sports fields, the bookstore, or cafeteria begins at $100,000 to $250,000.
Existing buildings may be named, such as the library or gymnasium on the main campus or other buildings at any SCC location. These require gifts above $1-5M.
Each naming recognition must be consistent with mission and goals of the College and the Foundation.
