The 30,000 sq. ft. SCC Auto Tech Center in Vallejo is the location of the SCC Car Show and Career Fair. Tour the building and meet faculty and students. See engine and dyno demonstrations, attend How-To Seminars, and meet automotive employers looking to hire qualified technicians. The Classes for the car show include Import-Asian/European, Truck, 1980-1999, 2000 and up, SCC student or High School entry, Classic Pre-1980, Exotic, 4X4/ Off-road, and we’ll award a Best in show/People’s choice. All proceeds benefit the SCC Automotive Technology Program.

The SCC Auto Tech Center includes a 30,000 sq. ft. facility with ten instruction bays, three alignment bays, two dyno bays, and a smog bay; dedicated rooms for engine and transmission dyno; two large classrooms; and tutoring space.
The College re-established its automotive technician program in spring 2013. Students have the option to earn an Associate of Science Degree, or Certificate in Powertrain, Electronics, Emissions, Undercar, and Hybrid and Alternative Fuels. The program started with funding from the California Energy Commission. SCC developed a state-of-the-art Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program. The College developed curriculum, trained other faculty, and purchased hybrid, electric and clean diesel training vehicles and training equipment. This SCC program is a leader in hybrid/alternative fuels auto technician training.
Students have the options of earning an Automotive Technician Associate of Science Degree, or multiple Certificates of Achievement in the following areas:
• Automatic Transmissions and Transaxles
• Automotive Electrical and Body Systems
• Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair
Current Course Offerings:

• Engine Repair
• Engine Performance and Advanced Performance
• Manual and Automatic Transmissions,
• Transaxles and Drivetrains
• Heating and Air Conditioning
• Hybrid Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
• Smog Check Technician Licensing
• Automotive Service Advising
Additional curriculum is being developed in:
• Update Training
Students are prepared to take the following ASE and State Smog Certification Examinations:
• A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, C1, & G1
• Smog Inspector License
• Smog Check Repair Technician License
