On Friday, August 26, 2016, the College held it’s Annual Benefit Gala to highlight the ground breaking of a 30,000 sq. ft. Automotive Technology building in Vallejo.  In addition, the College will recognize the 2016 Distinguished Alumni Award recipients and Alumni of the Year recipient.

The venue for the Gala was an automobile museum called the USA World Classics Event Center at 1525 Sonoma Blvd. in Vallejo.  Vehicles today are essentially high-tech rolling platforms, and SCC is providing the training students need to excel in this environment.  In fact, the SCC Auto Tech program started with a grant from the State of California to train fleet managers now to maintain hybrid and electric cars. The keynote remarks were provided by Mr. Bob Gallejo, Service and Parts Director for Wise Auto Group.  Funds raised at the Gala will support the Auto Tech program and the SCC Educational Foundation in its efforts to establish an active Alumni Association for Solano Community College.
