2023 Results!

Friday, September 8th at Rancho Solano Golf Course was a fun day on the greens that generated funds to support scholarships for SCC students. Team Potrero Hills Landfill scored a big victory with Tom and Kevin Reilly, Steve Roche and Steve Harris , followed by Brett Pottinger, Victor Woolworth, Jim Ruggles and Niazi Al-Zouhbi in 2nd Place. The 1st Place mixed team was Danny and Daniel Murillo, and Harry and Amber Meyers. Kelly Trujillo and Amber Meyers won the Closest To The Pin contests, and Brent Pottinger and Dixie Reid won the Long Drive contests. Danny Murrillo started his outstanding day scoring a hole-in-one to win the Putting Contest. Congrats to everyone!

Help Support a Good Cause: The Gift of Education!

Few things in life make an impact as powerful as education. It is the great equalizer in our society, and provides the less fortunate a path to achieve career goals, regardless how lofty or seemingly impossible. But it’s not easy and it takes years of hard work and perseverance.

At the SCC Educational Foundation, our mission is to provide a helping hand up to students struggling financially to stay enrolled in college. These students are dedicated to self-improvement, but need financial resources to stay enrolled. A scholarship provides encouragement by letting them know we have their back and we’re willing to invest in their future. In fact, students who earn a Community College degree nearly double their earnings within three years.

Participating in this tournament will help us promote the SCC 75th Anniversary Scholarship Fund Drive. COVID-19 has created a huge demand as young students beginning their work careers have been the first to lose a job or have work hours reduced. These students need help with books, transportation, and other College expenses to stay enrolled.  As of January 2022, about 125 students have received one of our scholarships from the SCC Student Emergency Fund.

Since 2013, the SCC Educational Foundation has provided $2.3 Million in financial support and outreach for the College and SCC students. Please consider participating in this tournament to help provide a student the gift of education!
